Exploring Emotional Intelligence Through Creative Practice
What if all your emotions had something important to tell you?
Many of us grow up believing that some emotions are good and others are bad. We learn to welcome some feelings and avoid or suppress others. Yet every emotion we experience carries valuable information about our needs, boundaries, values and wellbeing.
In this playful and creative workshop, we will explore the foundations of Dynamic Emotional Integration® (DEI), developed by Karla McLaren, and discover how emotions can become trusted allies rather than problems to solve.
Through simple art-making exercises, colour, mark-making and creative play, participants will be invited to explore their emotions in a way that is often freeing, insightful and surprisingly enjoyable. Working with simple materials can help us move beyond words and engage in a different kind of conversation with ourselves, one that encourages curiosity, self-discovery and emotional awareness.
No artistic experience is required.
The focus is not on creating finished artwork, but on exploration, learning and creative expression.
This workshop offers a gentle, educational and enjoyable introduction to emotional intelligence. You may leave with fresh insights, a greater understanding of your emotions, and simple practices that you can continue to explore in everyday life.
